Visual Thinking and Data Visualization for Clinical Research
This highly interactive session presents ways to use visual thinking to strengthen research and scientific communication. In order to visualize data well, we have to understand our research deeply. Likewise, in order to understand our research deeply, we need to be able to visualize it well. Centered around a graph makeover, the talk presents three real-world design principles that can clarify both data visualization and critical thinking.
Kate Miller is Director of the Visual Thinking and Data Visualization Program at the Quantitative Sciences Unit at Stanford Medical School, as well as a Senior Biostatistician there. She uses visual thinking every day in her collaborative work with clinical research teams.

Fall internship at Boehringer Ingelheim
Global Biostatistics & Data Sciences in Boehringer Ingelheim currently has a Fall Co-Op internship position open for both Master and PhD students. The internship is well suited for students with strong backgrounds in statistics, biostatistics, data science, or related quantitative fields, and it offers exposure to real‑world data analysis and statistical applications in pharmaceutical research and drug development.
