Course logistics

Nicky Wakim

Important note

  • I will NOT be in the country from 7/2-7/22
  • I will be present on our Slack from 7/13-7/17, but otherwise I am on vacation
    • I can potentially take meetings during 7/13-7/17, but I’m in a flipped time zone eek!
  • I’ve asked my colleagues, Meike and Jessica, to manage our Slack page while I’m gone

Some good things to know for this class!

  • Copying code: the copy option on all code!
I can hit the copy button and paste it!

  • Accessing the source code for this site via GitHub

  • A video might reference something you haven’t covered yet
    • For example: I mention an “object” in the lesson on functions, but we don’t cover objects until the next lesson
    • I will always try to group videos that mention new material in a week together

Each week

  • A “new” week starts on Monday
  • You will need to watch the videos set in the week
  • At the end of the week, there is a practice due Sunday night at 11pm
    • This will cover the videos for that week!
  • Some weeks will also have labs due on Sunday night at 11pm
    • Labs will cover material from previous week(s)
    • Labs will not cover that week’s material

Communication

  • Slack will be the BEST place for asking questions!
    • This way your peers can help you and you can help your peers!
    • I will also answer questions on Slack!
  • I usually take up to 24 hours to respond (during M-F)
    • I don’t work on the weekends!
